"Stories of Strength" Short Story Competition

For Children and Young People from War-Affected Backgrounds
Proudly Sponsored by a Veteran and Memoirist Who Believes in the Healing Power of Storytelling

Short Story Competition

Your Story Matters

If you've come to Australia from a country affected by war — seeking safety, healing, and a new beginning — this is your chance to share your story, your imagination, and your hope.

A former Australian soldier and published memoirist, who has seen the impact of war firsthand, is offering two special prizes to support young storytellers from refugee and immigrant backgrounds. He believes that writing can help us make sense of pain, honour resilience, and dream of peace.
